Why are you afraid?

Politics and religion are the two topics people say you should never talk about.  People have very strong feelings about both.  Before you have even started talking people have already formed an opinion and it's usually their way or the highway.  The 2016 election season is upon us and people have taken to social media to express their opinions.  I have kept quite until now, you may agree or disagree, but I feel like I needed to share this.

I was listening to KLOVE in the car this morning and something that was said on the radio really jumped out at me.   The speaker was talking about how we should not have a spirit of fear.  The Bible says in 1 Timothy 1:7, "For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love and sound judgment."  Why are you fearful?  Why are you afraid?  God is in control!  God is bigger than the 2016 elections.  Instead of saying we are moving to another country, we should be praying for our country and our future leader!  Philippians 4:6 says, "Don't worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."

Christians, it is time to stop complaining about who is leading in the latest polls and start praying.  Every time you feel like complaining, stop and PRAY.
